Opened as a 50-bed Decatur Community Hospital in 1974, our institution marked a significant step forward in meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the thriving community of Decatur, Texas. In April 2001, the facility rebranded as Wise Regional Health System, and on December 1, 2023, became part of the Medical City Healthcare system — one of the region's largest healthcare providers.

Today, Medical City Decatur, a campus of Medical City Denton, offers services for the entire family, including emergency services, women's care, orthopedics and cardiology. Our skilled providers are dedicated to delivering advanced, high-quality healthcare with a compassionate, patient-focused approach.

Our emergency department is the region's only Level IV Trauma Center, staffed by emergency medicine and trauma care specialists who diagnose and treat traumatic injuries, severe concussions and life-threatening conditions. Our cardiology program features an accredited Chest Pain Center and offers advanced treatments including heart catheterization, heart valve surgery and cardiac rehabilitation.
