The Fly Trap is a landmark establishment in San Francisco. Our story begins in 1883, when the original owner hung fly traps to protect food displays from the insects drawn in by horse-drawn carriages passing along the streets. That practical solution became our name — and it stuck.
Located at 606 Folsom Street in the Yerba Buena Garden District, we're just steps from the Moscone Center and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Through the decades — from the early 1900s through the 1920s and beyond — The Fly Trap has remained a gathering place for San Franciscans and visitors alike.
Over 140 years later, we continue to celebrate the city's rich heritage with California cuisine, a welcoming bar, and the kind of atmosphere where you can hold a conversation without yelling. Our patio has heaters, our WiFi password is "weloveyou2," and we're still making it happen — just like we have since 1883.
