Our History
The Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet was established in 1974 by Margarita and John White with a clear mission: to offer the very best dance training available to students who wish to study the art of ballet. What began as a single school has become a beloved institution in the Narberth community and beyond.
Twelve years after opening the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet, the founders established a non-profit organization to further their mission of making classical ballet training accessible and excellent. Over the decades, thousands of students of all ages have walked through our doors and experienced the challenges and joys of discovering classical ballet.
PAB is one of the few schools in the United States with the expertise and structure to teach the Vaganova method of classical ballet — widely regarded as the gold standard in ballet training. Our faculty includes teachers who also instruct at top-tier professional schools, bringing a high level of experience and dedication to every class.
Our alumni have gone on to dance with leading companies and at top university programs, a testament to the strong foundation built here. But whether a student aspires to a professional career or simply wants to experience the beauty of ballet, PAB provides a grounded, supportive environment where excellence is quietly pursued.
