Dr. Oliver Canahuate holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the New York Institute of Technology, a Myopain Seminars certification in dry needling (CMTPT/DN), and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from UNC Charlotte.
With over 10 years of experience in sports rehabilitation, Oliver began his education as an Athletic Trainer at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Driven by his passion for helping others achieve optimal performance and recovery, he relocated to New York to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy while working with some of the best in the field.
Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of treating patients referred from the Hospital for Special Surgery, one of the leading orthopedic hospitals in the nation. His experience spans multiple outpatient physical therapy clinics in New York, as well as providing care for elite teams such as the New York City FC development team, the White Plains Rugby Club, the Carolina Panthers, and UNC Charlotte Football.
While his initial passion was focused on sports-related orthopedic injuries, his clinical experience has shown him the profound impact that addressing the intricacies of daily living can have on a person's overall quality of life. By broadening the scope of treatment beyond just athletic injuries, he helps patients make small yet powerful changes in their lives that promote long-term well-being and vitality. This comprehensive approach guides individuals toward not only recovering from injury, but also living with greater strength, mobility, and confidence in all aspects of their life.
