Our Story

Over 60 years of promoting handcrafted arts and crafts from Arkansas artisans.

A Cooperative Since 1962

The Arkansas Craft Guild began as the Ozark Foothills Handicrafts Guild, headquartered in Mountain View. Over the decades it evolved into a state-wide cooperative around 1990, bringing together fine artists and craft artisans from across Arkansas. The Guild moved to its current location at 104 E. Main Street in 2000.

The large stone building at 104 E. Main — a former post office and drug store among other incarnations — has been renovated over the years, including a new roof in 2024. It features handicapped access with parking in the rear. The space is spacious, light, and airy, making for a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience.

For over 60 years, Guild members' work has been juried on the basis of quality, design, and fine craftsmanship. Today, some 110 fine artists and craft artisans make up the Guild's all-Arkansas membership. The Guild presents the yearly Christmas Showcase in Little Rock and the Artisans Market on the Square in Mountain View.

Membership & Shows

New Guild membership applications are juried three times per year. The Guild provides a collaborative environment where craftspeople explore and develop their art, while building a market for the highest quality products.

Each Guild member has their own profile on the Guild website, including a biography or artist statement, external links, and photos of representative works. For product sales, you can visit the Gallery in Mountain View, contact artists directly, or attend any of the Guild's craft shows throughout the year.

The Guild has been recognized as the Best Gallery on Facebook, and its members continue the proud tradition of handcrafted excellence that has defined the cooperative for over six decades.
