The Bridge is our emergency response system. When families face job loss, medical emergency, housing crisis, or sudden pet medical need, help arrives within hours — not weeks.

• Transportation support to clinics and services

When a family gets a new lease requiring a $400 pet deposit they cannot afford, The Bridge covers the deposit through a micro-grant, creates a pet resume for the landlord, and mediates the transition. Family stays together. The shelter never gets the call.

SNIP (Spay/Neuter Program) — Currently paused while we secure funding. The model is simple: one surgery, no litter, no shelter intake, no taxpayer cost. For low-cost spay/neuter right now, call the Pet Help Desk at (205) 754-7542 and we will connect you with a partner clinic.

Foster-to-Train — Shelter dogs are placed in foster homes with professional training at $150 per placement. They return adoptable, reducing length of stay and returns.

Adoption Boost — 90 days of post-adoption support including vaccines, training, vet access, and guidance during the critical window when placements fail. A newly adopted dog starts chewing furniture — instead of going back to the shelter, Adoption Boost provides the training and support to make the adoption stick.

Sniff and Greet — Structured adoption events with trainer-guided introductions. Better matches mean fewer returns and stronger placements.

The AWRN is the shared infrastructure that connects every partner in the region. Right now, every shelter, rescue, and vet clinic runs their own separate system. Nobody's data talks to anybody else's. The AWRN replaces all of that.

When a shelter in Jefferson County is full and a rescue in Shelby County has space, the network sees it in real time. When a family calls needing help, the Pet Help Desk connects them to the right partner in minutes.

Animal-Angels Foundation builds and administers the platform. The network belongs to every partner in it.
