We Don't Adopt Our Way Out. We Prevent It.

The Problem Nobody Talks About

The shelter is the last stop. By the time a family walks through those doors, the decision has already been made. We work at every stop before it.

Shelters stay full because litters keep coming, and litters keep coming because a spay or neuter can cost $400 or more at a private clinic — more than a family in crisis can pay. We fund the surgery that breaks the cycle. One surgery stops a litter. Every litter stopped is a generation of animals who never end up in a shelter.

We are not a rescue. We are the layer that makes less rescue necessary. Six programs. One front door. Every dollar goes to keeping pets where they belong.

Animal-Angels Foundation serves seven counties in Central Alabama, addressing the preventable reasons pets end up in shelters: a vet bill nobody could cover, a landlord who said no, a litter that was never supposed to happen. These are fixable problems. We fix them.

Six Programs. One Mission.

Every program reduces shelter intake in a specific, measurable way.

  • Pet Help Desk — One phone call. We triage the problem, build a plan, and connect you to the right resource before surrender becomes the only option. Call (833) 754-7542 or local (205) 754-7542.
  • SNIP — Our spay/neuter program (currently paused while we secure funding). One intervention prevents an entire litter from entering the system. Call the Pet Help Desk for low-cost spay/neuter referrals right now.
  • The Bridge — Crisis stabilization and family retention. Food, vet bills, housing deposits — whatever it takes to keep the family together.
  • Foster-to-Train — Shelter dogs get placed in foster homes with professional training. They return adoptable, reducing length of stay and returns.
  • Adoption Boost — 90 days of post-adoption support. Vaccines, training, vet access, and guidance during the critical window when placements fail.
  • Sniff and Greet — Structured adoption events with trainer-guided introductions. Better matches. Fewer returns. Stronger placements.

What People Are Saying

I have had some health problems. They have been so patient with the time I need to recover. They have treated my Buddy with love and respect that needs. I will recommend Animal-Angels Foundation to whoever needs a temporary housing for there pup.
