Our Story

Hi there! My name is Amy, and I am the founder of Busias XOXO. It was founded in 2021 with a lifelong dream, a lot of grit, and most importantly — love!

Busia means Grandmother in Polish. My Busia, Estelle, was one in a million. I used to sit in her kitchen, with my little legs dangling off of her big rocking chair, and just watch her cook and bake. She never measured anything, but everything always turned out so perfect. I remember her old aluminum baking pans and how banged up they were. She used them so much that they were weathered, and now I think about how many smiles she put on people's faces with all that she made.

She was an eclectic woman — fearless, always wearing a lot of bling, even on ordinary days. She loved all kinds of animals, but especially birds, and definitely chickens. I think that in my own little heart, I am like her in so many ways, and I am so grateful for that. I founded Busias XOXO in her honor, and every little detail of it has been extraordinary.

We had the honor of opening a store in Muskego in May of 2023, and after only a month being open, I lost my husband John unexpectedly. He was my biggest supporter and loved our customers just as much as I do. We closed that location in December of 2023, but we continue on this journey because I truly believe this is what my purpose in life is.

Ally, my daughter, is our Bakery Operations Manager, and she has such amazing talent — especially with the decorated cookies she makes! We do this together, carrying on the legacy of Busia Estelle, who always said I was meant for great things in life.

We are so excited about our location in Downtown Racine at 210 3rd Street. If we are lucky enough to have you stop by, our day is already better. Supporting our small business means the absolute most to us!
