Steve has spent over 30 years teaching, performing, composing, and leading bands. His deep understanding of music — technique, theory, tone, and structure — allows him to guide students through every stage of their musical development.

Every student learns differently, and Steve takes a personalized approach to each lesson. He crafts the curriculum to fit your learning style, your goals, and the music you love. Whether you want to jam on punk rock, dig into country licks, explore jazz harmony, or write your own songs, Steve has the knowledge to help you get there.

His curriculum covers learning the neck, music building blocks, music theory, music reading, ear training, technique, timing and feel, songwriting, and improvisation. Students also learn practical skills like how to use effects, how to play in a group, and how to record their music.

Steve offers both in-person lessons at his Seattle studio and remote lessons for students who aren't local. He's known for being flexible, on time, prepared, and attentive — and always great at communicating.
