Discover the Life

Thinking about floating homes? We can help. Just know this: the real story isn't the homes — it's the way of life.

Sleepless in Seattle made us famous, but the real story of Seattle's floating homes is richer than anything Hollywood imagined. Our community along Lake Union and beyond is a living, breathing neighborhood where homes, waterways, and people have been intertwined for generations.

The Floating Homes Association plays a crucial role in fostering a vibrant and supportive community for residents of floating homes. We are dedicated to preserving the heritage and character of these unique dwellings, advocating for the rights and interests of homeowners, and promoting sustainable living practices.

We organize community events, workshops, and educational programs that bring residents together and create a sense of camaraderie — from Dock Rock paddle-up concerts in front of Terry Pettus Park with the Space Needle anchoring the skyline, to cultural adventures exploring houseboat living around the world.
