Visiting Downtown Mountain View
Downtown Mountain View is pedestrian-only, thanks to City Council and huge public support. The first three blocks of Castro Street — from the Caltrain station to California Street — are all-pedestrian. What a pleasure it is to walk downtown without cars, stopping to enjoy a meal or a coffee outdoors. Come hungry, as there are over 40 restaurants of every type on Castro Street.
Free parking is available downtown, on the streets and in a large multi-story garage right behind the store. Unlimited free parking is available after 6 PM. For longer stays, you can park a few blocks away from the downtown and hang out all day.
The Mountain View Community Shuttle stops just two blocks away at the Civic Center/Performing Arts Center. Caltrain's Mountain View/Castro stop is just six blocks away. There are numerous bike racks in the downtown, including right in front of East West.
We are only closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
