Meet the Team

Pastor Paul Mixon — Senior Pastor
Pastor Paul and Mrs. Kirsten have been married since 2001 and have 7 children. They have been serving the Lord at Central since January of 2012 and work diligently under the leadership of the Lord to bring to light the vision for this church in reaching our community with the Message of Jesus Christ. In addition to 7 kids they have many chickens, a few ducks, two dogs, and two cats — almost sounds like the ark.

Pastor David Cox — Spiritual Formation Pastor
Pastor David has been a faithful member of Central for over 12 years and has lived and served in the Crestview community for more than 35 years. A graduate of Crestview High School, he has dedicated much of his vocational life to serving others as a board-certified optician. Throughout his years at Central, he has faithfully served as youth leader, deacon, and in various other ministries. He has been married to his wife, Angela, for 33 years and is a proud father and grandfather.

James Small — Worship Leader
James has been married to his wife, Katelyn, for six years, and together they are raising four children. Since 2025, he has been serving at Central Baptist, helping lead the youth ministry and serving as Worship Leader. He has a heart for shepherding young people, leading the church in Christ-centered worship, and seeing lives transformed by the truth of God's Word.

Jessica Dewrell — Children's Ministry Director
Jessica has been married for 23 years and has 5 children and one granddaughter. Born and raised in Crestview, she has always had a passion to work with children and lead them to know and have a relationship with Christ. She has been the Children's Director at Central for 3 years.

Synclare Cox — Ministry Assistant to the Pastor
Synclare has been working at the church for 5 years and started attending Central when she was 14 years old. She has recently felt the call to be one of the leaders of the Girls in Action group on Wednesdays.

Shawna Erickson — Ministry Assistant
Shawna started working in the office in July of 2025 after being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years to two incredible young ladies. She started attending a D-group at Central during Covid and thanks God every day for guiding her to this church family.

John Nelson — Director of Maintenance
John has been married to Jalia since 1980. They have three daughters. He has been in the maintenance field and electrical/HVAC for over 20 years.

Marilyn Dent — Volunteer Extraordinaire
Marilyn has been a member since 1988 and has volunteered as a facilities helper since 2013. She was married for 48 years, has two children, two grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She retired from Civil Service after 31 years of dedicated work.
