Live Theatre on the North Coast

Home to NCRT and Redwood Curtain — bringing plays, musicals, and community events to Eureka since 1983.

Three Decades of Live Theatre

The 5th & D Street Theater is home to the North Coast Repertory Theatre — Eureka's longest running live theatre establishment. Started in 1983 as a splinter from the long-running Ferndale Repertory Theatre, NCRT moved to its current location in 1984 and has been producing quality plays and musicals ever since.

Today, NCRT produces six main stage productions per year along with a variety of second stage performances. The venue also hosts productions by Redwood Curtain and is available for rental to outside performing arts groups and schools.

Our building at 5th and D Streets in Eureka has a long and varied history, including a stint as the local Salvation Army headquarters and a grocery store. As of 2015, the mortgage has been paid off — thanks to the loyal patrons and supporters who helped make that possible over the years.

What Our Audience Says

For a small town theater company, NCRT and Redwood Curtain do a terrific job of putting on a broad range of shows, solidly produced, directed, staged and acted.

Shawn Shafer★★★★★

Love this theater and their productions. There is something about the theater itself that makes every word and any and all music sound intact and brilliant. The musicals are the best. But actually— everything is just always fantastic.

Emily Barnes★★★★★

Great local theater. Always good talent and a great time. They have snacks and drinks available including beers, wines, ciders, sodas, water, and a variety of candy, popcorn and homemade cookies on occasion.
