Learn How You Can HelpWho We Are
The Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending skin cancer as a life-threatening disease through a passionate network of supporters focused on prevention and early detection.
We focus on Maricopa County residents who need us most—those with low income, chronic illness, or physical disabilities. Together with community partners, we make sun safety possible.
Arizona leads with one of the highest numbers of skin cancer cases in the country. One in five Americans will develop a skin cancer by the age of 70. With sun all year round here in Arizona, our work is never done. We're committed to making sure every member of our community has access to the tools and knowledge they need to stay safe.
How We Help
Our foundation runs three core programs to protect our community:
- Check the Skin You're In — Free skin checks that identify suspicious spots early, connecting people with the care they need before it's too late.
- Play in the Shade — We install protective shade structures in public spaces so families and children can enjoy the outdoors safely.
- Sun Safety Education — We educate children and adults about sun protection, risk factors, and the ABCDEs of monitoring your skin at home.
These programs work together to build a culture of prevention across Maricopa County, reaching the people who need us most.
