Welcome to James Country Mercantile

James Country Mercantile started life in 1985 as James Country Muzzleloading, right in the heart of the area which bred and nurtured Frank and Jesse James. What began as a baker tent at Midwest rendezvous has grown into one of the largest sutleries in existence.

Located just north of the Historic Square in downtown Liberty, Missouri, we offer a full line of historically accurate goods, custom sewing, research, consultation, and associated services. Whether you're a seasoned reenactor or just getting started in living history, we're here to help.

All of our clothing is U.S. / American made. We do not import uniforms and civilian clothing — it is indeed made here in the Midwest.

We outfit the 1800s Living Historian from head to foot, outside and underneath. Lady or gentleman, civilian or soldier, Union or Confederate, lawman or outlaw — we have your needs covered.
